The West Nipissing Lynx are headed into their holiday break placed 8th in their division. Though Lynx President and General Manager Patrick Miron admits that it may seem like a low seed, his team is beating top teams and the division is so tight, that it’s anybody’s game going into the playoffs.

“After our break, we have two games that first weekend, and then we get another break the following weekend because of the All-Star game. The trade deadline is the following Monday after that... so a couple of teams might be doing some shuffling. There’s a potential for us to do some moves to improve our club. With that said, we do feel comfortable with the guys we have now. Though we’re in 8th place, everybody in that room believes that they can win. So we’ll see how it plays out.”

Though making moves at the trade deadline isn’t set in stone, and is certainly not the ultimate goal, Miron admits that if right pieces do become available and the players have a chance at improving their club, then they will pull the trigger. “We are always going to do what’s best for our organization, both this year and in the future. If that means giving up pieces, or acquiring pieces, that’s what we’ll do.”
